The Dome

The project proposes a new architecture workshop and social hub on the university campus to address the issue of overcrowding in the existing workshop, which becomes heavily used during peak times. The aim is to provide additional, flexible workshop facilities while also creating a vibrant space for students to gather, eat, and interact.

The design combines recycled shipping containers for modular, adaptable workshop areas with bent timber structures that frame the catering and social spaces. This material strategy not only demonstrates sustainable construction but also creates a strong architectural identity—raw, functional, and expressive.

By integrating workshop, catering, and transition zones, the project encourages both focused making and informal collaboration. It becomes more than just a functional facility; it is a living laboratory and social hub, inspiring students through its sustainable design while strengthening the campus community.
